A NEW ENVIRONMENTAL GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT, TERRA MATTERS, UNITES STUDENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE STATE WITH ONE COMMON GOAL: TO MAKE AN IMPACT ON CLIMATE CHANGE LOCALLY AND EMPOWER OTHERS TO DO THE SAME.

PORTLAND, ME | April 2, 2018: Terra Matters’ Climate Summit and Rally includes students ranging from elementary to college level. Saturday morning April 21, 2018 (Earth Day Weekend) environmental clubs from College of the Atlantic, USM, St. Joseph’s College, Casco Bay High School, Kent’s Hill High School, Scarborough High School, Friends School of Portland, and King Middle School will present their environmental local action projects at a Youth Climate Summit at University of Southern Maine’s Hannaford Hall.  A Climate Rally will immediately follow in Deering Oaks Park From 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm with speakers and four musical acts, featuring The Root Bros, The Ghouls, Flight 317, and the MAMM King Band. All events are open to the public.
Terra Matters has partnered with The New England Grassroots Environmental Fund, Maine Community Foundation, Sierra Club Maine, Natural Resource Council of Maine, Maine Environmental Education Association, 350 Maine, Project Learning Tree, Maine Audubon and young changemakers around the state.
